So Emily has always been fascinated by all law enforcement officials. She knows they are “helpers” but she also definitely understands that they “bust you when you do something wrong.” We have a good friend who is a highway patrolman and her awesome cousin is a policeman. Despite her understanding of what they actually do and that for someone like her they would only be a “helper,” she loves to joke about the “Po-Po” coming to get her. When ever she sees the “Po-Po” (which can even be a mall cop), she says “Hey guys! There’s the Po-Po! Play it cool.” She then does this funny sideways glance and does a “play it cool” whistle (see picture below). It is my favorite thing ever. It is such an expressive demonstration that I am sure the officer or mall cop notices every single time. But I am pretty sure they think it is as funny as we do.
