The other day I bought some Swedish Fish which is a treat we all love. So, Katelyn decided it was time to get Emily involved in the process by teaching her to feed the fish to us. It was working so well that we decided to make a game out of it.
I put Emily in the far corner of the room and gave her a Swedish Fish. Katelyn and Brooke laid down on the floor across from her and begged for the fish. Emily would crawl towards them and then pick the lucky recipient of the fish. We did it over and over and she thought it was great fun to be the one holding all the power.
We did it over and over until everyone had eaten plenty of fish – except Emily. That is when she realized that if her sisters were begging for the fish that they were probably quite tasty. She was about to feed the girls when she decided to take a taste and see for herself what all the fuss was about.
Once she tried it, she was done sharing for awhile. Emily gummed the fish to death and then when it was nice and soggy she dragged it across the carpet as she crawled to the girls to offer up her used treat. It was so sticky that it stuck to her hand, along with carpet fuzz and all manner of nastiness that was hiding in the carpet.
The girls wouldn’t eat the hairy fish, but did accept the soggy ones, albeit reluctantly. I love to watch these girls have so much fun together and I love having yet another Swedish Fish buddy in our family.
Here is a video of some of the fun for those grandmas, aunts and friends out there that really miss us
