I cannot believe that our little Brookie Cookie is already four years old. She was so excited for her big day and had a blast planning all of the details.
She knew about six months ago that she wanted everything to be pink and purple and that she wanted a Barbie cake, but we decided to wait on the rest of the details. So in December, I took her shopping to pick out all of her party ware – we had so much fun and her choices were perfectly Brooke in every way.
She chose Tinkerbell cups, Princess dinner plates, Tangled caked plates, Barbie napkins and pink and purple polka dot party blowers. We even found a Barbie birthday banner to tie it all together. Brooke loved it and said “Mom, it’s all so PERFECT!”
On the morning of her birthday, I had everything set out including the “Birthday Girl” crown. She loved all of it, especially the Barbie banner and pink and purple streamers and balloons.
She wanted waffles for breakfast and then we were off to the basketball game to watch Katelyn cheerlead. Brooke was excited because “little” Kyle was on the basketball team and that meant Kara would be there to hang out with. They had a blast watching their siblings and playing games on cell phones and Brooke’s Leapster.
After Upward we headed home so that the birthday girl could open her presents. She was so excited and loved everything.
Emily was particularly fond of the Build-A-Bear bed she got from Katelyn and was anxious to try it out.
As soon as we were done opening presents, it was time for her party at Savage Land Pizza. When she first started planning, she wanted it to just be our family but eventually she decided to invite “little” Kyle and Kara, and her friends Lucy and London, but London was sick that day and couldn’t come. The kids had a blast playing on the ridiculously large play structure and had a great time together.
They also loved their pizza so much that we ordered a second round. Brooke must have been growing since it was her birthday because she ate THREE slices of pizza. That never ever happens.
After pizza, they played some more and then it was time for some Barbie cake.
Brooke was so excited about her cake and when she took a bit she said “This cake is so yummy I’m gonna die!”
After cake it was present time – she loved everything and had so much fun with her buddies.
After the party, the girls spent the afternoon playing with Brooke’s new toys. They had a blast and spent most of their time baking with her magical princess oven that Lucy gave her.
Next up, Brooke got to pick where she wanted to go for dinner – out of all of her choices, she picked waffles at our house. That choice surprised us all, but her evening activity was just what we predicted. Brooke wanted to go to Build-A-Bear so she could stuff the pink bear that Katelyn gave her and use her gift card from our good friends in Utah, the Hoppers.
She had so much fun and was so sweet to Katelyn. After looking around the store for almost an hour and picking out just what she wanted, she changed her mind. She was getting a pink Smartphone (because every Build-A-Bear needs one) to go with the outfit she picked out for Lollipop Shimmer and decided that she wanted to get one for Katelyn so they could text. I told her she didn’t have enough money to do that and without hesitation she said she wanted to put something back so she would have enough money. Katelyn was so surprised and excited and I was so happy – it was one of those mom moments that you hope you’ll never forget.
After our adventures at Build-A-Bear we went back to enjoy some more birthday cake and read Brooke’s new Fancy Nancy book. We also looked through her baby book and marveled at how big and grown up she had gotten. She said it was the “Best Day Ever!” I sure hope so because she deserved it. We love you so much Brookie Cookie! Happy 4th Birthday!

She is adorable and so big! What a great sister to spend some of her money on Katelyn! I had to laugh out loud at all her party decorations. It would have sent me into a slight panic, but it looks like you handeled it well! :)
What a darling little princess! It's hard to believe she's already 4!
