We love to visit Settler’s Park when we are in Boise. So, while Emily napped at Grandma’s house, Katelyn, Calvin, Brooke and I headed over there for some summer fun.
The splash pad did not disappoint and cooled us off quite well.
Then we headed over to the playground.
They did some rock climbing…
… and played on the fun toys and equipment.
We finished up with the music area. We love this park.
Just as we started to head for the car, we noticed something large in the grass. Upon further investigation, we discovered that there was a tortoise named Hippo visiting the park. His owner invited us to come and see him. He let the kids sit on him and then told them they could stand on him too. They were skeptical at first, but after his demonstration, they decided he was serious. The next thing we knew, they were turtle surfing. It was so cool, until Hippo started pooping and then they were done.

That looks like such a fun park! And that is a huge turtle! I can't believe they could sit and stand on it! How fun!
