The girls were so excited to visit the zoo this year. When we went there last summer, they saw that the new Rocky Shores exhibit would be open in 2012 and they were anxious to check out the polar bears and seals in their new home.
Before we ventured over to the new exhibits, we started off with some of our favorites. The elephants we quite active despite the heat and Emily loved touching the different pelt samples they showed us.
Then it was time to visit Rocky Shores and catch a glimpse of the new polar bears. We ended up with much more than a glimpse. The polar bears were in the middle of their morning lap swim so they were really fun to watch. It was so incredible to see and the bears were so cute that I almost forgot that they would happily eat us if given the chance.
The seals were equally adorable and performed their tricks for us.
We took a break from the heat and went to see the bird show that we enjoyed so much last year.
No visit to the zoo is complete with a ride on the carrousel…
… or a ride on the train. Emily was extra excited about both of those activities and her sisters happily joined her.
Before leaving, the girls had a chance to participate in a dance party with hula hoops; after which Emily exclaimed, “Best Day Ever!” Agreed.
