So I decided that it was time to start blogging again and that our trip to Disneyland would be a good way to begin. So be prepared for lots and lots and lots of pictures. Remember, you’ve been warned.
On Saturday, March 2nd it was finally time for our trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. The girls found out about the trip on Christmas day and had been counting down the minutes. Our countdown chain made it so fun to see how quickly the trip was approaching and before we knew it, it was 5:00 a.m. and time to head to the airport. This is the one and only time my kids have been that excited to be woken up before the crack of dawn.
Everything went smoothly and according to plan (imagine that, me with a plan) and we were California bound.
The girls loved the plane ride and thought their treats bags were the best. They also had a great time with their electronics and activities that I had surprised them with in their backpacks. They enjoyed it so much that I actually got to read an entire magazine cover to cover. It was heavenly.
The girls were so excited that we flew into LAX. They love the Miley Cyrus song “Party in the USA” and the lyrics say “I hopped off a plane at LAX with a dream and my cardigan.” They kept singing that line to each other and grinning from ear to ear. This was definitely their dream.
Just a few minutes after claiming our luggage, we we riding down the freeway on the Disneyland Resort Express. The girls were super stoked and grabbed front row seats, but Katelyn was the only one who enjoyed the view. Emily and Brooke were both sound asleep and snoring within about 5 minutes.
They got to nap for about 40 minutes and then we arrived at our Hotel. Gram and Pop got there about an hour before us, so they were there waiting to greet us. We got checked in and then headed down to White Water Grill for some lunch.
After lunch we’d planned to go swimming if the weather cooperated. It was a beautiful day so we hurried back to our rooms, got changed and headed out for some sun and fun.
The pools were so beautiful and it was great that each one only had a handful of people in it.
We swam and played and did tricks…
… and then we hit the waterslides.
Gram was the favorite “catcher” and was so nice to do it over and over and over.
To finish off our fun, Katelyn and Brooke joined me in the hot tub while Emily sunned herself in a lounge chair next to Kyle. It was delightful.
My dad was so good to get towels, take pictures, get more towels, help me move all our stuff several times – you name it, he did it. Just as we were leaving, we saw this sign and my dad jokingly said, “If I would have seen this I’d have gone swimming too!” He is always the good humor guy and makes us laugh so hard.
It was the perfect start to our Magical Adventure!
