So our good friends (the Sorenson's), have two darling little Maltese puppies named Butch and Buddy that Katelyn absolutely loves. Along with the Sorenson's, we refer to the dynamic duo as "The Boys." So today I had a chance to take my girls up to see
the boys and it was a blast. The boys were so excited to see Katelyn and gave us quite a greeting. They gave all of us kisses and had an especially good time sniffing Brookie. As long as she was in my lap, she seemed to enjoy the dogs. On her own however, she seemed a little concerned. Then Katie gave Katelyn some snacks to feed the dogs. As you can see from the photos they all had a great time.
Brooke however was a little bit perturbed when she discovered that the dogs were eating cheerios and she wasn't getting any. She managed to sneak a few away from them and then she warmed right up to them.
Anytime she would chase after one of the dogs she would happily growl in a very deep voice while saying "mumumumum." She did it over and over and the growling was so gruff that we were all laughing hysterically. We still aren't sure what she was trying to say, but what ever it was it involved her enjoying two very patient dogs.

I think that turned out to be Brooke's favorite part of the day - Kris picked her up and showed her a giant stuffed bunny which Brooke immediately loved.
Since the bunny didn't try to sniff or lick her and it certainly didn't eat what she thought might have been some of her cheerios, she decided to spend the remaining moments of our visit snuggling with the bunny. I had a Maltese dog named Buddy when I was growing up, so it really melts my heart to see Katelyn having so much fun with the dogs... not enough to make me want to OWN a pet, but enough that we will certainly visit Butch and Buddy and their awesome family often!

We were totally going to get Aidan a dog when he was just 2. He LOVED them so much. Then I got pregnant. Thank goodness that was short lived.
Jackson told me last week that he wanted a pet. Then after visiting Dan's brother and spotting their dog who lives in a pasture and had absolutely no contact with the kids, Jackson told me that he doesn't want a pet any more. He likes the thought of them but once confronted with the reality, he can't do it. Fine by me. I am not a pet person.
