The Day We Hiked Tubbs Hills

Tubbs Hills 7-21-08bWhile our niece Bug was visiting us, we decided to finally hike Tubbs Hill in Coeur d'Alene.

It was Brooke's first time in the hiking backpack and she definitely liked having a bird's eye view of everything. When Katelyn was in it for the first time at 9 months old, she sang the entire way up the trail. Brooke wasn't quite that excited about it, but still enjoyed the great outdoors.

Bug & Katelyn 7-21-08bWe saw some great sights and decided to end our hike with a famous "gooey" from the restaurant Dockside at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. Brooke was ready for bed, so she headed home with her dad while we went to indulge. They were so busy at the restaurant that they we actually out of the traditional (giant) gooey dish. They really are huge and wonderful. We were a little disappointed when ours came in a bowl/trough, but it didn't matter once we started eating - something that decadent would even taste good served in a garbage can. The food was great and the company was even better. We loved having Bug visit, and hope she will come again soon! Gooey's at Dockside 7-21-08

The ice cream reminds me of driving to Seattle with you (with Spice Girls playing!!!) for Marble Top! Glad to see you are training your girls so well :) I also like the background for your blog :)

Great new background. And my mouth started watering thinking about a "gooey."

Are my jeans tighter?
