The Day The Rain Came Down

So on "snow day" number four out of five so far this school year, this is what our snow fort looked like.

Playing in the Igloo on snowday 5 1-6-09

Just two days later however, after the rain came down and the kids had their first day back at school after a three week long Christmas break, this is what our winter "wonder"land looked like... as in I wonder where all the snow went.

The igloo after the rain 1-8-09

I am going to go finish working on my ark.

Float on down to Boise. There is plenty of dry land around these parts.

It looks like you guys had such a fun Christmas! Those girls are darling! You wouldn't happen to be headed to Utah over President's Day weekend would you? Sam and I will be there then and would love to see if you were!

Oh all that work washed away! How fun! Do you think we'll get more snow this year?

Well, it's two weeks late, but we are now experiencing those weather patterns here in Utah. Braeden built a giant igloo we thought would last until next winter, but it rained and rained and flooded our basement, and I was shoveling rain-soaked snow off the driveway last night, and the igloo has completely dissolved.

And then it snowed again this morning.
