The Day We Raked In More Fun

I love fall and driving along the streets in our neighborhood makes me so happy this time of year.  It is beautiful and the leaves really are amazing.  As the girls discovered, leaves are also amazingly fun.  After our successful “rake and play” activity, we decided it was time for some more leafy fun on another fall sunny afternoon.

It started off the same, with raking and jumping and laughing, but then we added a wheelbarrow and that is how you can really get a leaf party started.

The wheelbarrow was fun ride for Brooke and Emily and it also gave us a practical way to transfer the leaves to the backyard.

That’s when the wheelbarrow led to the slides which led to some serious leafy fun.

The kids eventually filled one of two leaf positions – sliders or throwers.  The sliders would  slide into the leaves and the throwers would throw the leaves at the aforementioned sliders.  It was a hoot

Even though my first instinct was to rake and then bag the leaves immediately, I’m glad we stopped to play and enjoy something that I know the girls won’t soon forget even though we are still finding leaves tucked in some weird places.
