The Day Katelyn Finished Fourth Grade

In what seemed like the blink of an eye, fourth grade came and went.  Katelyn had a fantastic year with seriously the greatest teacher ever.  One of my favorite things is when a teacher really “gets” your kid and understands what makes them tick.  One of Mrs. Parker’s own children is a lot like Katelyn and so she knew exactly how to help Katelyn get everything she could out of the school year.

Katelyn has such a fun and energetic personality, but in class she is much more reserved.  Mrs. Parker immediately spotted this and spent the school year encouraging Katelyn to give them “more Katelyn.” in class.  She even wrote in Katelyn’s yearbook that everyone needs “more Katelyn” in their lives.  It really touched me to watch her reach out to Katelyn in such a loving way.  She  never made Katelyn feel like she was lacking something that she needed to work on or change, but instead felt encouraged to share more of who she is with her class.  What a wonderful life lesson.

Here are Katelyn and Brooke in the morning on the last day of school.  Emily missed the photo session because she started her summer break early and slept in that morning.

I love the beginning and end of year shots -- I can't believe how quickly they grow! A good teacher is so important. I wish her 5th grade teacher good luck -- she has big shoes to fill!!

I can't believe how much they change in just one school year! I'm so glad Katelyn had a wonderful teacher. I LOVE "more Katelyn," how cute is that!?!?

It's hard to believe that Katelyn will be a 5th grader. Watch out, Middle School isn't that far away! Love you guys!
