The Day We Learned About Gardening (2012)

We were so excited when it was harvest time last summer.  Our little garden is so fun for the girls (and me).  There is something so gratifying about growing your own food from tiny little seeds.

Since we don’t have one large space for the garden, it is in different places throughout our yard.  So last year, the girls named the four different areas of our garden.  We had Tomato Town, Sunflower Valley, Vegetable Village and Raspberry Woods.  Each area did great and yielded more food than we could eat.

They loved picking everything but thought sampling it immediately was even better.  Emily’s expressions were hilarious – like her sisters, she is a big green bean and fresh pea fan.

It was such a fun project and resulted in hours of enjoyment together and bowls of tasty treats too.
