The Day We Celebrated Emily’s 3rd Birthday - part 1 of 3,427

For Emily’s third birthday, she made sure to clear her schedule so she could party anytime, but the rest of the family made things a little difficult.  Between school, evening lessons and activities and Kyle’s travel schedule, we celebrated her birthday as a family the Saturday before her birthday.  She picked a Chuck E Cheese party.  We have trained our kids to always pick a better place for food, so usually we play at Chuck E Cheese and then dine somewhere else.  Unfortunately, Emily decided she wanted the complete Chuck E Cheese experience, so that meant eating cardboard pizza there.  But the birthday girl gets what the birthday girl wants.

We knew that Saturday would be crazy there so we arrived shortly after it opened.  GENIUS!!!  It was so pleasant!  The place was nearly empty and we took advantage of it!

 

The birthday girl was had a ball and played with all of us.

She loved playing games, dancing and winning tickets – KID Heaven.

Her sisters also influenced her and she now has a love of the Kid Roulette Wheels.  They love pulling the level and trying to win a billion tickets.

I loved that they all still rode the trolley and even let me take a picture of them on the bus.  Someday I need to do a post of all the bus pictures of them from over the years.  But that would make me cry, so I will do it later.

Emily was so excited (along with her sisters) to feed her tickets to the ticket monster and pick out a pile of awesome prizes.

After games and tickets it was time for pizza.  Emily loved her pizza but she also discovered the parmesan cheese shaker and it became her new best friend.  She spent a lot of time shaking cheese onto her plate and then carefully picking up the flakes and savoring each taste.  She was really in the dairy zone and got so entranced by the process that she completely fogged out and did the unthinkable… instead of hygienically shaking the cheese onto the plate and then eating it, she cut out the middle man and just went for it.  She looked at the cheese exposed on the top of the shaker and she couldn’t resist… SHE LICKED THE CHEESE SHAKER.  I nearly died but quickly got over the horror of the situation because I was lucky enough that I had taped the whole thing.  Priceless right?  Plus, I figured if she got some freaky weird disease from it, we could provide the CDC with adequate documentation of the original contaminant. 

Despite the cheese incident she had a wonderful time and we loved celebrating her birthday with our sweet three year old.
