The Day We Celebrated Easter

 

We were so excited to be able to celebrate Easter with family in Boise this year, especially because we were also welcoming Dallan home from his two year church mission to Brazil. 

On Easter morning, we started out with an egg hunt with the girls and Calvin.  They found lots of eggs and their baskets in Grandma’s living room.

After they found their baskets, they stopped hunting for a few minutes to check out their treats.  Then it was time to start searching again…

 

Their new magnifying glasses came in handy while they searched for more treats and discovered that because of the nice weather, the Easter bunny hid eggs outside too.

The kids loved hunting for the eggs outside, with two minor two-year old exceptions.  First, when Brooke found an egg that was slightly wet from the morning dew, she would immediately throw it down and yell “WET!”  Even though there were treats inside, a wet egg = a bad egg in her OCD world.  The second exception was Calvin’s kryptonite – the trampoline.  While looking for eggs was fun, jumping on the trampoline in jammies was even better.  Katelyn found the rest of the eggs for them and shared them willingly with the little kids.  They loved checking out their treats when it was all over and had plenty of candy to eat along with the AMAZING cinnamon rolls that grandma Carol surprised us with after the hunt.  

That afternoon everyone came over for an amazing turkey dinner together.  Then it was time for church.  As part of the Easter program, Dallan was one of the speakers.  He did an amazing job and we are so proud of him for serving such an honorable mission and we are all so glad to have him home.  This is a picture of Dallan, Jill, Darron, Bug and Jaleese.

 

The girls thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Calvin.  He is such a sweet boy!  It was so funny when he would call Brooke “Baby” and she would get mad, put her hands on her hips and say, “No, Baby!  I’m Brooke!”

It was a wonderful Easter weekend and we are grateful we could spend it with family.  We had a great time with everyone and can’t wait to see all of you again!
