I am once again blown away at how fast another school year has come and gone. My how time flies. We were all so excited to get summer started and to celebrate the end of third grade. Katelyn had another fantastic year and I am so glad that she and Sara continue to be buddies even though they can’t seem to get the same teacher.
After some sister pictures, Katelyn and Sara were good enough to let me take their picture… they love that we have one (or ten) of them together on the first and last day of school starting when they were five years old. Sara’s dog Ginger was happy to get her morning biscuit from Katelyn and was also more than willing to pose for a morning carpool mascot photo.
Just two hours later, it was time to go pick Katelyn up and get the celebrations underway. Katelyn received a very warm welcome from her fan club and she loved that Gram and Pop were here to celebrate with us.
We headed downtown to celebrate and started with lunch at Sushi Maru. It is the fun sushi restaurant – the food comes by your table on a conveyor belt and you take what looks good. It was super fun and the food was great. Emily was very adventurous… she would try anything as long as it was delivered via chopsticks. Edamame was definitely her favorite.
It is impossible for us to go to River Park Square without playing at Mobius. The girls had a blast and it was so nice having a one to one adult/kid ratio.
Emily loved playing with Pop in the “under 3” area and was fascinated by the dinosaurs. She examined them and eventually tasted one. Blech.
To end our fun on the way home we made a stop at Krispy Kreme – then it was time to head home and get ready for the girls’ dress rehearsal. It was such a fun day and we are so proud of Katelyn’s hard work as a third grader.
