The Day We Left For Canada

To start off our summer vacation, we loaded up the Hansen clan and headed for the Canadian border.  The best part about vacationing with kids is that they LOVE everything that isn’t just driving in the car.  For example, we stopped for lunch right after we entered Canada – they thought Canadian food was great… there’s nothing quite like a foreign DQ blizzard.

The drive to Banff National Park and Lake Louise was beautiful.  We saw some cool animals and couldn’t get over these Wildlife Overpasses.  They were absolutely beautiful and much nicer than any pedestrian bridge I have ever seen.  They were even landscaped to aid in the wildlife migration patterns.  They were an amazing site to see and each cost 1.8 million dollars.  Yikes.  No wonder they were so beautiful.

After driving through British Columbia’s picturesque Radium Springs and Kootenay National Park, we arrived in Alberta Canada at Banff National Park.  It is such a beautiful place and the girls were thrilled when we arrived at the Paradise Bungalows.  The whole place was adorable!

 

Emily’s favorite part of bungalow was definitely the refrigerator.  She loved that she could access everything and spent her mornings and evenings while we were there rearranging everything.

Even though it was late when we arrived, the weather was beautiful so we headed to see Lake Louise after dinner.

 

 

 

The Lake was beautiful and the kids loved it.  We were all looking forward to go back and see it in the daytime with it's beautiful turquoise water the next day.
