After our hiking adventure in Johnston’s canyon, we high-tailed it back to Lake Louise. The weather was beautiful and we knew that the lake would be spectacular with the unobstructed sunlight emphasizing its turquoise splendor. We had such a great time taking pictures and the kids loved hanging out by the water. We couldn’t have asked for better weather.
The girls let me take lots of pictures of them by the water – I was in camera heaven. The funny part was that a bunch of Asian tourists noticed the girls and thought Brooke was so cute that one lady picked her up and took her over to be in their pictures. Brooke looked terrified. I explained to her that they thought she was a beautiful little American girl and wanted her to be in their photos documenting their trip to North America. She was still unsure about the whole thing and I never had to tell her to hold my hand. She held on for dear life after that.
There was a lot of beautiful wildlife to check out as well. On one of the signs, we discovered that the Lake Louise contains “Brook trout.” Brooke thought that was really cool and then Kyle said, “You know how you can tell if it’s a Brook trout? It’s small and pink and whines a lot.” We laughed so hard and even though Brooke didn’t think it was funny, she willingly posed by the sign.
Lots of Kodak SD card moments to document.
Silly Emily loved checking everything out and decided that playing peek-a-boo behind our legs was her favorite game of the trip.
Lake Louise was one of Kyle’s dad’s favorite places. We loved visiting it too and can understand why he liked it so much.
