The Day We Partied With Class

The only thing more exciting than the last day of school before Christmas break are the parties that go with it.  Brooke has loved going to Katelyn’s parties ever since she was a tiny baby, so she was super excited this year to not only attend Katelyn’s class party but to have one of her own as well.

Thanks to my new addiction to Pinterest, we had a lot of fun making treats for her preschool bash.  We made reindeer cookies (special note, use the mini pretzels that come in the snack size packs… anything else will be too big) and Santa hats made of brownies, buttercream icing and fresh strawberries.  Brooke was so excited to celebrate with her friends and her awesome teachers. 

Emily is a big fan of attending her sisters parties as well.  At the preschool party, she found some purple high heels and little chairs, so she was happily entertained while Brooke made reindeer crafts and reindeer food to put out on Christmas eve.

Brooke loved the party but I think her favorite part was just playing with all of her school buddies.  She loves preschool!

Next, we headed home for lunch and then we were off to Katelyn’s class party.  Most of Katelyn’s friends are the oldest in their families, so they think her little sisters are adorable.  The reindeer antlers seemed to amplify their cuteness too – Emily especially loved working the crowd.

They did puzzles while Brooke and Emily played at Katelyn’s desk.

Then it was time for Bingo and the treat room.  I was assigned to provide carrot sticks.  Katelyn laughed pretty hard over that one… Brooke got to take two cute Christmas treats and she got to bring in carrots. 

My favorite part of Katelyn’s party was when Katelyn came back from getting her food and brought a special plate of Oreos just for Brooke.  Buffets are not at all safe for people with serious tree nut and peanut allergies like Brooke, but Katelyn spotted the Oreos safely in the package, and knew Brooke would be so happy.. those are her absolute favorite.

It was a great party and I am so glad that Katelyn still wants us to come and stay the whole time. 

This is a shot I got of the kids after school.  Sara had already gone home, so she wasn’t in the picture, but other than that, this picture makes me so happy.  This little crew is such an unlikely group but they have so much fun together and take such good care of each other.
