Even year birthdays are extra exciting at our house since that is when the kids get to have a friend party in addition to the family festivities. Since it happens every two years, the girls spend about 23 months planning what they want to do. For Brooke’s sixth birthday, she wanted one thing. A party at home. I tried my hardest to sway her towards something that just involved me writing a check, but she was adamant. She wanted a Hello Kitty themed party with a craft, lots of games and Hello Kitty cookies and cream cupcakes. So that is exactly what she got.
We started with a craft – they painted and glittered up a princess themed window catcher. I expected chaos, but instead there were 12 extremely focused little girls, and Kyle. It was perfect.
Before their paint dried, they added sparkles and glitter which made everyone happy. Then it was time for games. We played Pin the Bow on Hello Kitty, Hello Kitty Bingo, and several Hello Kitty themed relay games. The girls were so fun and had a blast with the games.
Then it was time to bring out the parachute. The only thing wrong was that it wasn’t a Hello Kitty parachute. That was a huge hit and a great finale to the game portion of the party.
Then it was time for cupcakes and presents… yum and yay!
The party was a success and the birthday girl was so happy. I couldn’t have done it without the best party assistants – Katelyn and her BFF Sara were so helpful and the little girls loved them.
To thank them for their help we took them out for Frozen Yogurt and had lots of fun chatting about the party highlights.
After frozen yogurt, a nap for Emily and some playtime with her new presents, we headed out for birthday dinner at Red Robin.
It was such a wonderful day and we loved celebrating our sweet six year old girl. Happy Birthday sweet Brooke!
