Since August 2nd didn’t quite go as planned, we had Katelyn’s “do-over” birthday the next day. Her Hawaiian themed day started off much better than the day before. She felt great and was so excited to be eight!
The birthday girl wanted to go to the mall, so we got ready and headed out. She was so excited to ride in the mini-van without her booster seat – one of the many great things about turning eight.
Our first stop was Claire’s and then we were off to Build-A-Bear. Katelyn found a lot of things she like in Claire’s but decided to hold off on spending any of her birthday money until she checked out what was new at her other favorite store. Sure enough, she went through the adoption process once again and made a Mint Chip Ice Cream Bear.
Once we finalized “Minty’s” adoption we headed home to get ready for Katelyn’s party. But when we got home we found Kyle very very very sick. Since everyone was ok with moving the party out a day we decided we would do that so that Kyle could be there too. That just meant that Katelyn’s birthday would continue for another 24 hours.
Per Katelyn’s request, to make that evening special, we roasted hot dogs and made s’mores on the fire pit with “little Kyle” and Kara. Katelyn had a great birthday do-over and was excited to stretch it another 24 hours.
