The last day of school is always so exciting – Brooke and I were both so anxious to finally have Katelyn home with us all day during the summer and Katelyn was looking forward to summer vacation as well. She had a terrific school year, but when the morning of her last day of second grade finally rolled around, we were all thrilled.
Katelyn said that her favorite things about second grade were lunch and recess. She also loved science, doing art projects, and being in their class play. She made some great friends and learned a lot. She excelled at reading and worked really hard to improve her timed math test scores. She loved the class store they had at the end of the year and used the class money she earned to buy something for everyone in the family.
Here are some “Then and Now” photographs of Katelyn from the first and last day of 2nd grade.

Brooke was so excited when it was finally time to go get Katelyn from school. She waited patiently and got really excited when the bell finally rang and the kids came running out of the building.
Here are some more pictures from the 1st and last day of school. Here’s Katelyn, Brooke and Sara

And here is Katelyn with Ben and Bradley – giving their “sign” for 3rd grade. We sure hope they will be in the same class again – I love that she has her very own set of body guards.

After school we went to have lunch and play at Carl’s Jr. with the Yosts. Gram came with us and Pop stayed behind to assemble the new playset.
We had so much fun and continued to be in denial that the Yosts were moving the next morning. I fully believe denial is bliss, at least temporarily :)
It was a fantastic last day of 2nd grade and we are excited for a fun summer break.
