The Day We Went to Lagoon

The girls were so excited to visit Lagoon again this summer.  After Brooke’s traumatic 1st ride last year on the Lady Bug Bop, we wanted her to have a good opening experience, so the girls chose the airplanes and had a great time.

Overall, Brooke thoroughly enjoyed the rides and had a great day.

There were only a few times that she felt she’d been mislead about the fear factor on a ride – you could always tell how well the experience had gone by her facial expression while leaving the ride.

 

 

We were so glad we could go with Gram & Pop and Gay & Jerica – they were all willing to enjoy the rides the kids were interested in which made for a fun and laid back day.  However, since their were five adults, we also got to slip away in small groups and try some of the rides outside of Kiddie Land.  I will never tire of the White Roller Coaster or Colossus.

 

 

Hands down, the girls’ favorite ride was the carrousel.  They loved the horses and animals but decided the spinning car was their favorite.  By the end of the day, they had it packed with kids and had a blast spinning their brains out.

Emily also enjoyed her day.  She loved riding around in the Baby Bjorn, but also liked the stroller and wagon.  She took several good stroller naps too.

We enjoyed lots of yummy treats and found a good shady spot to eat that happened to be next to the carrousel… perfect placement!

Katelyn and Brooke had so much fun riding rides together.  Katelyn was happy to ride on anything Brooke wanted to, just so they could be together.  She recognized that by next summer she will not be able to go on most of the kiddie rides because of the height restriction, so she just enjoyed it and never gave Brooke a hard time about liking “baby rides.”  I love it when they are good to each other like that.

 

Katelyn also had a blast riding with me, Gram, Aunt Gay and Jerica on the rides outside of Kiddie Land.  Her favorite was “The Bat” rollercoaster – she even struck a bat pose for the picture. 

We also had a great time on the sky ride.  Pop and Emily watched from below and liked being spectators for that one.

One of the highlights of the day was of course Rattlesnake Rapids.  Gram, Gay, Jerica and Katelyn had fun floating and Brooke and Pop tried soaking them with the water guns on the side.  The waterfall did more damage than those guns ever thought of doing.  I don’t think Gay and Jerica will wear white t-shirts next year.

The ride home spoke volumes about how much fun we had.  Brooke passed out immediately and even though Katelyn didn’t go to sleep she was almost silent and looked very glazed over.  Thanks so much for a great day at Lagoon Gram & Pop and Aunt Gay and Jerica – we had a blast!
