The Day We Took A Duck Tour

After spending the morning touring Faneuil Hall Marketplace and having lunch with Christina, we decided to start our exploration of Boston by taking a Duck tour.  This amphibious vehicle takes you all around the city on land and water, and has a guide who points out all the cool stuff and explains it.  It didn’t involve us driving, navigating or walking, so I was all for it.  the girls started out very excited as we boarded our pink duck.  They thought it was really cool but soon the novelty wore off…

… either that, or the exhaustion finally overtook both of them. 

We saw some great sights and after recharging her batteries, Katelyn regained consciousness just in time to take  a turn driving our Duck on the Charles river.

Our tour guide offered Brooke a turn too, but she slept right through it all and we gladly let her.  Thank goodness she won’t know what she missed until she reads this someday.

After the Duck tour, we checked out the Science Center until it closed and then saw some of the sights on foot.  We saw Paul Revere’s house and Old North Church and then took a stroll through Little Italy.  We found Mike’s Pastry shop which did not disappoint in the cannoli department.   

After more touring and exploring, it was time for dinner at the City’s Oldest Restaurant, “ye olde Union Oyster House.”  The atmosphere was fantastic and the food was spectacular.  Boston is such a great city (with great food to boot), so we were glad we had another day ahead of us to go see more sights and taste more delicacies.  Boston, however had something else in mind for our adventure.  To be continued…
