Having Halloween on a Saturday this year, really doubled our fun. We started out on Friday with Katelyn’s class party. I don’t know who was more excited, Katelyn or Brooke, but either way, they both had a great time.
There were lots of fun crafts and games. Brooke made herself right at home and partied right along with her big sister.
After the class party we had some time for the sugar buzz to wear off and then we headed out to the party at the library. Once again the girls enjoyed some fun games and crafts and had a great time hanging out with their friends.
The kids had a blast but were worn out by the time we got home. Katelyn was mellow but Brooke showed her exhaustion a bit differently… Not only did she run into a door at the library, but she literally fell out of her car seat when we got home. She finished off the evening by falling down some stairs at our house too – she was beyond tired! We ended the night with a relaxing evening of pumpkin pizza and a Monster movie. It was a great day but thinking about another full 24 hours of party time made me tired too.
To kick off Halloween day we started out with cheerleading evaluations and the last soccer game of the season. That afternoon it was time to carve pumpkins. The kids designed the faces and colored on their mini-pumpkins while I scooped out the guts and Kyle did the carving.
Then it was time to get dressed up again and head out for trick-or-treating. The girls got their glow wands and Katelyn grabbed her broom and we were off.
The girls loved every minute of it and were very happy when we hooked up with our Trick-or-Treating buddies, Bumblebee and Spider Girl, aka “Little” Kyle and Kara.
We also ran into some other fun characters…
When the girls were finally willing to come home, they were excited to check out their loot. They were happy with their spoils but did do some trade negotiations. As you can see, Katelyn even resorted to begging.
We had a great Halloween weekend with our darling little Cinderella and witch… the only problem besides extreme fatigue from the two day extravaganza is that Brooke asks every day if we can go trick-or-treating again.
