So our family started a New Year’s Eve tradition a few years ago completely on accident. We’d been talking to our good friend’s the Wills on New Year’s Eve day and they asked if we wanted to get together. We had other plans but Tami said, to let them know if anything changed. Our plans ended up getting cancelled at the last minute and Katelyn was super disappointed, so we called the Wills and put together an impromptu New Year’s Eve party. Now, six years later, there is nothing impromptu about it. We rotate houses each year and party like it’s 1999, except with five kids between the two families.
This year we hosted, and in case we hadn’t already consumed more meat and cheese than the law allows during the holidays, we brought out the fondue pots again and it was so good. The kids also made little ice cream snowmen for some added fun.
After some fun and games it was time to say goodbye to 2011. The kids were anxious to get out their accessories and let the noise making begin. Emily liked it at first, but wasn’t quite sure about the volume of the activity. Eventually, she was overtaken by the awesomeness of their craziness and she joined right in and helped them ring in the new year.
Happy New Year! I think 2012 is going to be a blast!
