As it turns out, Santa needed to adjust his insurance policy and happened to chose the State Farm office here in town. Our local newspaper mentioned he would be there, so the Hansen family headed out to see the Jolly Old Fellow.
Katelyn has never been a huge fan of going to sit on his lap, but has no problem writing him a letter because that has worked in the past. This year though she said she would go because Brooke was dying to "go see Santa" and had been saying that over and over. When we got there Katelyn agreed to sit on his lap for the sake of her sister. He was of course very nice, so it wasn't too traumatic. Katelyn is worried though that she might ask for the "wrong" thing. She is afraid that one of her grandma's might have already gotten her a Barbie laptop and that is what she asked Santa for... I told her not to worry, that Santa is very good at coordinating with parents and grandparents. She still seems concerned though.
Brooke was glad to have finally found Santa - she'd been asking ""where did Santa go" and now she "found him." But even though Brooke liked looking at him, she did not want to sit on his lap. Standing by him was ok and she would even give him a hug but there was no sitting - I guess she realized that it would take her longer to escape if things didn't turn out well.![]()
We were the only people there so the girls got lots of time to hang out with Santa - Brooke even sang a shortened version of Jingle Bells for him and Katelyn got to chat with him about the reindeer. It was so much fun - we can't wait for him to visit our house!![]()

I'm so glad Brooke finally "found" Santa!
Santa is great. But not so great when he visits the Ward Christmas party less than a week before Christmas day and Canerib asks for something he never mentioned before! Yikes!
Looks like you had a great Santa day!
