My Grandma and Grandpa Hardy have always been a huge part of my life. So when Katelyn was born I was so glad that we lived near them so that she could have a close relationship with them too. We weren't sure what Katelyn would call them, "Grandma Great" or just "Grandpa Hardy." Unfortunately, Grandpa Hardy passed away right after Katelyn turned one. But as a very early talker she came up with a name for Grandma Hardy right away and it stuck. Katelyn started calling her Hardy - it was so funny and she was so sure about it, that now we all call her Hardy, even though she definitely is a "GREAT" grandma.
So during our trip to Utah this summer, we had a "Hardy Party" with some of our extended family members. Not everyone was able to make it that night, but we had such a good time. We roasted hotdogs and made s'mores with the Chiminea. Dustin protected us from the hornets by "batting" them over the fence
with a paper plate. The girls played croquet and conned Aunt Gay into taking them into Uncle Russell's Fifth Wheel. They both loved playing in there and Brooke was so happy that everything was just her size. The window in the bedroom was her favorite part but they both loved "napping" on the
bed in the "upstairs" room. Since it felt like it was 110 degrees in there, we finally convinced them to come back outside to play.
Family is such an important thing and I am so grateful that my girls have grandparents, great-grandparents, cousins, 2nd-cousins, aunts, great-aunts, uncles and great-uncles that are so important to them and that take the time to have an active role in their lives. We love you all!

Sounds like you have a party everytime you go back to Utah! It's so great that you have all of these great memories recorded.
All those summer pictures are making me miss summer already!
I love when kids come up with their own fun names for Grandparents!!! This little girl I used to know called her grandma Miz, because when she was around her people always called her Mrs. Cullen and so Caitlin thought that was her name, so it stuck and all her grandkids call her Miz now! Long comment, sorry, I just think it's cute that she calls her Hardy :)
I love Hardy Party's. Ours, too, take place in UT!
