To kick off the holiday season, Gram came to visit us for a girls’ weekend while Kyle was out of town. We started out the fun by heading to Coeur d’Alene for dinner at Red Robin and to take a boat cruise to the North Pole.
Dinner was delicious but the first thing we did when we got on the boat was get hot chocolate and a cookie that was as big as Brooke’s head. But that is part of the fun of going to the North Pole.
The girls were excited to head out on the deck of the boat to see Santa and were thrilled when he started reading names from the good list. I might note though that they both looked nervous.
The list was long and even though Santa said “Brooklyn” twice, it wasn’t until towards the end that he finally said “Katelyn” and then “Brooke.” Since the names were next to each other they knew it was them and that their were officially on the “good list.”
After a few more names had been read and it was clear the list was coming to an end, Brooke looked at me with panic in her eyes and said, “But Mom! Hims didn’t say Gram’s name!” She noticed that Gram wasn’t on the good list, but I explained that Santa only read the names of the children that were
on the boat. That definitely made her feel better and we all enjoyed the rest of our visit at the North Pole. The lights are amazing and the world’s tallest Christmas tree is really quite a sight.
When our cruise ended, we were walking off of the boat with two blissfully happy girls when Brooke turned to us and said “That was a great time on the boat guys!” We all couldn’t have agreed more!
