After enjoying a fun Christmas Eve morning around the house, we took our little reindeer to see The Princess and the Frog. We had a great time and everyone loved the movie.
Brooke’s favorite part however was when she discovered the giant Christmas tree with pulsating lights and rockin’ Christmas music outside the theater. She couldn’t resist the beat and had to stop and dance. I really need to take a tip jar with us when we go places, because I could make a fortune off her cuteness when she gets her groove on in public.
Katelyn really loved going to the movie, but her second favorite part was definitely the popcorn. She usually doesn’t care much about food or treats, but man, give the girl a bucket of popcorn covered in grease and she can really go to town on it.
That evening we let the girls open their Christmas Eve present before we started prepping dinner so they would have so time to play. They both chose to open a present from Grandma Carol and they were ecstatic to find a Dora the Explorer kit for Brooke and an electronic world globe for Katelyn.
While the girls played we got our fondue dinner ready. It is such a fun meal to eat and soooo good. Brooke decided that she preferred to dip her bread in ranch rather than the cheese fondue but Katelyn loved the cheese fondue. Both girls picked cranberry mustard as their favorite dipping sauce for their meat, so there is hope for Brooke still even though I think she picked that one simply because it’s pink. After dessert, the girls got ready for bed so we could set out the cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. We also read some of our favorite Christmas books together before it was time to get them nestled all snug in their beds… it was a great day together and a perfect lead in to a wonderful Christmas Day.
