I think the only thing that Brooke was more excited about than starting preschool, was getting to go on her first field trip. She had seen the pictures of Katelyn going to the farm with her preschool class and couldn’t wait for her turn. She even wore the same outfit that Katelyn had worn back in the day. I didn’t realize until after the field trip was over and I started working on this post that I had some very similar shots of the girls. Boy how things change in 4 1/2 years.
We started off the field trip by finding our way through the corn path maze. It was a beautiful sunny day and all of the kids loved it. Then, we got to pick corn that we can turn into popping corn. Another big hit.
Next up was a hay ride on the tractor. That never ceases to be cool either and when they dropped us off in the pumpkin patch the first thing the kids wanted to know was whether or not we could go for another ride. Fortunately, the pumpkin patch tour was a round trip ticket.
Since our weather had been unseasonably warm, the pumpkin vines were still very tall and sturdy, not to mention super pokey. It was quite tricky navigating the vines that were as tall as four year olds. But they didn’t mind a bit and Brooke still managed to find what she thought were perfect gourds, mini pumpkins and pumpkins.
We finished off the fun by snacking on some popcorn under the trees with her preschool buddies. We had so much fun together and I loved watching her enjoy being the big kid doing big kid things.

It looks like you guys had a beautiful day for your fun field trip!! I am so sad Carter's preschool this year;( Oh well I know they do it again at the kindergarten center. Where has that unseasonably warm weather gone? It was 26 degrees this morning!
