The Day We Went Back to Camp Peine

This September, we headed back to Camp Peine for another fun campout with our ward from church.  Since soccer season had already started, fewer people were able to attend than last year, but everyone that came had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful weather together.

The kids of course headed for the water.  Instead of fishing this year, Katelyn tried our our friend’s boat.  She loved it and managed to steer it quite well.

Kyle kept Emily with him and she helped set up camp.  This picture is of her the next morning, looking pleased with the beautiful surroundings and glad that her beloved blankie was with her.  We forgot to bring him, but my good friend Bonnie broke into my house, got blankie and sent him up to the camp with her family that evening.  It would have been a very very very long night without it.

Katelyn and Brooke had no trouble sleeping… they were worn out and they think camping is the best.  Emily on the other hand was not the least bit ready to sleep.  She kept climbing on everyone and trying to wake them up.  When she found my camera, she exclaimed, “cheese!” and demanded that I take her picture.  I don’t remember when or how it happened but she finally went to sleep.  It is a good thing she is so cute.
