The Day We Got Our FurReal Pets

After hanging out at our house and running a few errands in the morning, we spent the afternoon playing and hanging out with our good friends the Wills family.  The kids had a blast playing games, being silly and hanging out while the adults got to visit.

 

 

Then we headed home to have fondue for dinner.   We ate so much that we didn’t have any room for dessert fondue and decided to save it for Christmas Day.

 

After the girls showered and had their Christmas PJs on it was time to read the Christmas story from the Bible.  The girls acted it out with our Little People Nativity set while Emily tried to eat most of the pieces.

Then it was time to open Christmas Eve presents… Brooke picked a big box from Gram and Pop and was thrilled when she opened it up and found her pink and purple pillow pet!  Katelyn had another one picked out, but once she saw what Brooke got, she found a similarly sized box from Gram and Pop in the hopes that she too would get a Pillow Pet.  She was so excited to find a blue dolphin.  I was thrilled that they opened gifts that encouraged sleep.

Emily’s gift was an entirely different story.  The giant package that her sisters demanded that she open had been barking in our living room since we brought it home with us from Boise over Thanksgiving weekend.  It would bark and pant when the lights would go on and off in the living room, so the girls were pretty sure it was the dog they both wanted.

They helped Emily open it and all three of them were thrilled with the contents.

 

Everybody wanted a turn and loved the puppy more and more with every bark and tail wag.  Soon it was time to go put the cookies for Santa on his plate and get ready for bed.  That’s when Kyle came around the corner announcing that he’d gotten the girls another FurReal toy to play with.  This is what we saw.

After we all cried from laughing so hard, Katelyn and Brooke wanted a turn in the box too.
