On December 28, 2010 Emily turned 9 months old and weighed in at 17 lbs. 11 oz. She had a very busy December and spent most of the month working on her chasing and climbing skills. She loves climbing the stairs and onto the coffee table and if you put her some where and try to ditch her, she will hunt you down in a matter of seconds.
She also loves to pull herself up to a standing position so she can check everything out. She will use anything, but one of her favorite pulleys is my hair. It might be time for a no-nonsense mom haircut, otherwise I might end up bald. She has also tried free standing a few times – if she does it too much though I will push her down. She does not need to walk anytime soon.
Emily started catching on to baby sign language this month and just when she mastered “more,” “milk” and “all done” she also found her voice and decided that squealing/screaming worked just as well. She loves to say “Ma Ma” and “Da Da” and does lots of fun growls and silly noises. She also found a new love for shaking her head from side to side. It seems to be a dance move more than her telling us no, but I am sure that is coming soon.
During December she got her second tooth and also her 1st ear infection.
She loves hamming it up for the camera and has no problem hanging out will sitting in the middle splits.
Here she is taking pride in conquering the coffee table and enjoying her first time out “playing” in the snow.
She also continues to love her sisters. She has discovered that they are the party planners and that fun always follows them. Therefore, she follows them. They love her right back and are still happy to use her as part of their game or what ever event they’ve come up with. They also try really hard to keep her from eating garbage off the floor. Besides calling her “kitty” she is also our goat… but we mean that lovingly of course. One evening when she was wearing the jammies in the picture on the left, Kyle referred to her as “the goat of many colors.” It was perfect.
Emily went to Olive Garden for the first time during December too while Gram and Pop were visiting – she loved it just like her sisters. While we were there she loved eating breadsticks and enjoyed playing a fun game of “Copy Katelyn” at our table. Here is a short video of the fun.
Miss Emily is such a joy and is growing up so fast. We love you baby!
