So for day number two of Christmas break, we had a day of fun planned with our good friends The Wills. “Little” Kyle and Kara are crowd favorites around here so the kids were super excited. As you can see in the photo, Katelyn and Brooke have been coming up with lots of fun “Reindeer Games” this holiday season and were anxious to play some with their friends.
To start off the day of fun, we headed for the sledding hill. Thanks to the nice weather we’ve been having it was more of a hill than a sledding hill, but it still worked great and the kids had a blast.
Katelyn even got the idea from our other good friends that were there, Madellyn and Dallan to try snow surfing. She loved it and didn’t break anything, so I loved it too.
The highlight of our snow fun was when the kids, with some encouragement from me did a sledding ambush and started a snowball fight with Jason (Little Kyle and Kara’s dad). He of course was a great sport and then we all joined in on the fun.
Everyone was worn out when we headed for home, but Kara (age 5) was more than happy to give Brooke and Katelyn both rides.
Next up was lunch at pizza hut. Emily was napping during our sledding adventure but was thrilled to be part of this one. We had a great lunch and ate until we were stuffed but not too full to head home to decorate sugar cookies and Christmas tree cakes
The kids all loved decorating and sampling their supplies. Emily was happy just watching the fun while drinking her afternoon cocktail.
They made some darling treats.
Our final activity was heading to the library to enjoy one of our favorite Kindergarten teachers put on a Christmas concert for the kids. It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed singing and laughing at his jokes. Emily did a lot of clapping and singing too.
We had such a fun day but some really disappointed kids when we told them it had come to an end. That is the sign of fun, when an seven hour play date isn't quite enough.

You are a great mom! Most of our Christmas break was a whole lot of nothing!
