This summer, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy came to Spokane and put on a concert at the park by our house. The kids were stoked of course and thought the name of group was hilarious.
We took a picnic dinner and met up with friends to add to the fun.
I dropped a blanket and some chairs off at the park earlier in the day to make sure we had a good spot close to the dance floor. The kids put it to good use and I could barely keep Kyle in his seat. Emily danced her little heart out too. The people sitting around us said they had a hard time watching the stage because they couldn’t quit watching her. She knows how to work a crowd. Speaking of the crowd… the people watching was F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C. Talk about a zoot suit riot… but hey, to each his own, right?
Not only did Emily love all the dancing but she thought that clapping at the end of each song was great too. It was all right up her alley.
Turns out, the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies are the ones that sing Zoot Suit Riot, but Kyle researched the Voodoo daddies during the show and it turns out the played the halftime show at the Super Bowl in 1999, so it was still cool with fun music and definitely a great summer evening with family and friends.
